Job Description

As an IT Security Analyst at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will be responsible for working with customers IT departments to complete IT assessments and questionnaires for the instruments we manufacture. The role has standard business analysis duties, focusing on quality, information security, and compliance in a regulated environment. You will act as a liaison with customer needs and technical capabilities, ensuring solutions meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the point of contact for filling out customer requested IT questionnaires related to instrument product quality, cybersecurity, and compliance.

Conduct detailed research using various repositories to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data concerning the security and functionality of our instruments and software.

Manage communications with customers, explaining assessment findings clearly and providing necessary follow-ups.

Raise issues to appropriate teams to ensure data is validated and updated.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for audits, customer inquiries, and regulatory compliance.

Apply a consultative approach with customers to understand their strategy and develop solutions to address their issues.

Lead initiatives to improve information collection, storage, and usage processes within the company, such as building AI tools that speed up the response time to customers.

Deliver outstanding customer service by meeting customer needs promptly and effectively, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Monitor and adhere to departmental important metrics to ensure performance targets are met and aligned with the strategic objectives of the IT department.

Adhere to customer timeline requests, ensuring delivery of all business analysis outputs and customer communications are clear.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Generative AI, Information Security, or a related field. Equivalent work experience is accepted.

8 years of IT and/or cybersecurity experience, preferably in a medium to large company environment.

Experience working in highly regulated environments; knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP or GxP) and Computer Systems Validation (CSV) is required.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead projects from inception to completion.

Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence, along with strong vendor management skills.

Proficient in project management, with a track record of on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Ability to work effectively in a complex matrixed organization.

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with strong team-building capabilities.

High level of initiative and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Customer service mentality and the ability to handle sensitive company information with discretion.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $118,000.00–$175,000.00.
