Associate Merchandising Planner

The Associate Merchandising Planner plays a key role in developing, executing, and communicating strategic merchandise financial plans. This individual will partner with Merchants in driving and maximizing sales and margin. Some responsibilities include forecasting for in-season business sales, vendor funding, inventory, and developing pre-season plans at category and sub-category levels by period. This position is expected to prepare for and coordinate weekly/monthly meetings to the Merchandise Team who support the decision-making process (Category Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Forecast in-season business for sales, gross, vendor funding and inventory on a weekly basis.

Analyze plan, track actual vs. plan sales and reforecast inventory needs on a continuous basis. Communicate results to formulate appropriate actionable options.

Rework plans and balance to mid-season/latest estimate top-down financial plans

Communicate financial results, forecasts, and action plans to Planner Leadership and supporting teams on a weekly basis. Maintain open and continual communication.

Present financial plans, forecasts, and strategies in key meetings

Support a collaborative, innovative and results-oriented environment with peers and cross-functional team

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Business, Finance, Accounting, or similar area.

Two to five years in experience in financial planning, and/or Merchandising.

Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
