Job Summary and Qualifications

The Anesthesia Technician demonstrates technical skills to assist the anesthesia provider (anesthesiologist) with equipment, and supplies utilized in the course of the anesthesia providers practice. Responsibilities will include application of Joint Commission and OSHA standards with regard to cleaning, safety, and equipment maintenance. The Anesthesia Technician performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Sky Ridge Medical Center (SRMC). The Anesthesia Technician performs activities in accordance with patient care and department standards, including patient transport, blood and blood product transport, OR room turnover, handling of sterile supplies, and other duties as assigned. The Anesthesia Technicians may come in contact with medications and therefore must demonstrate understanding of proper medication management and storage as well as maintaining a secure medication environment. The Anesthesia Technician displays positive support for the values and mission at SRMC and follows SRMC policies and procedures. Call may be required for this position.

What qualifications you will need:

High School or GED preferred

Graduate of an anesthesia technician program preferred

1-3 years experience preferred

BLS Certification Required
