JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
TheOffice of Faculty Affairs and Diversity Equity & Inclusion in the College of Health and Human Development (HHD) is seeking a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Specialist. The successful candidate will support HHDs broad DEIB goals and the work being carried out in the office.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the creation of the strategic vision related to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts in the assigned area; provide outreach, programming, and resources for students, faculty, and staff to enhance belonging.

Articulate and promote the benefits of diversity and advocate for an inclusive environment that engages diversity to strengthen and maintain a positive educational experience/environment.

Oversee and administer the DEIB budget for assigned areas; allocate resources appropriately.

Provide DEIB education through presentations and trainings.

Collect data to assess the success of DEIB programs and outcomes; prepare and provide reports and updates.

May meet with students or employees related to DEIB concerns; participate in the creation of a remedial action plan.

Educate students and employees about avenues and resources for reporting concerns.

Design and implement activities for engagement in DEIB efforts and programs.

Design and coordinate activities for diverse student/employee groups and organizations while connecting and communicating the mission of the DEIB office with broad audiences.

May manage the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students.

Maintain industry awareness; update leadership on best practices to create a more inclusive environment for students and employees.

May supervise staff members, including hiring, development, and performance management.

Education and Experience Requirements:
This position will be filled as an Intermediate or Advanced Professional depending on the final candidates qualifications and experience. Requires a Bachelors Degree or higher, plus one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience for the Intermediate Professional level. Additional education and experience are required for higher-level positions.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$46,400.00 – $74,000.00
