Summary You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (O/A) in the Security Department of NAVY WARFARE DEVELOPMENT CENTER. Responsibilities You will apply specific security regulations regarding the type of security check and initiate investigations. You will prepare and/or assist in preparation of all necessary forms and supporting documents to have clearance granted. You will use standard methods or web-applications such as Joint Personnel adjudication System (JPAS) or the Contractor Verification System (CVS) to review requests for visits. You will maintain files on the status of security clearance requests. You will establish and maintain security reports, records and files. You will operate the digital badging system and LENEL Identification Camera system for preparing security ID photos. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing clerical and assistant tasks in support of personnel, physical, information, and industrial security programs. Working with personnel security forms or letters, such as: the SF-312 (Standard Form-Non Disclosure Agreement), the DD-254 (Contract Security Classification Specification), and computer based programs used for processing personnel investigations and clearance requests such as the Contractor Verification System (CVS) and the Defense Information Security System (DISS). Analyzing and evaluating reports of investigations including those containing conflicting information or evidence. Using data processing techniques and computer operations needed to maintain security related data bases. Using correct format needed for the preparation for Navy messages and official correspondence. The employee must be proficient in typing and word processing skills. Using correct grammar, accurate spelling and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
