Your Responsibilities
As a Small Excavators Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Kernersville , located in Kernersville, NC , you will help chart our path forward by implementing a portion of the assembly process in the new factory in Kernersville. In addition, you will:
Design, procure, and implement tooling and facilities for a portion of the assembly process.
Determine assembly sequence of events and lead the development of assembly process documentation.
Collaborate closely with the design engineering team to blend design requirements and manufacturing process capabilities to safely and efficiently deliver quality excavators.
Collaborate closely with facilities and material flow teams to create an integrated manufacturing system.
Develop innovative solutions to build a best-in-class manufacturing facility.

What Skills You Need
Experience facilitating the design, purchase, and implementation of shop floor tooling and machines
Experience with manufacturing such as Industrial Engineering standards, SAP, and MES Systems
Implementing Design for Manufacturability concepts and principles
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross functional teams, especially in a shop-floor environment
Project Management skills
Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with automation and smart connected factory principles
Experience in multiple areas of manufacturing (assembly/fabrication/paint)
Experience with line design, value stream mapping, and/or other process mapping tools
Demonstrated leadership and passion for making things better
Willingness to challenge historical paradigms and push for innovative, pragmatic alternatives
Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
