PURPOSE OF POSITION

Cut and supply production floor with materials according to schedules and due dates. Produce defined quantity of parts and components according to company and customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

Read and interpret various paperwork, including but no limited to blueprints, layout, job order and related data for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as dimensions to be cut, depth of cut, and determines control settings, material requirements, machining methods and sequence of operations.

Cut materials to correct length according to specifications.

Measure parts and components to verify accuracy to specifications.

Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.

Verify raw material receipts and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.

Work with purchasing on out-of-stock items to expedite delivery.

Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.

Perform general housekeeping and maintenance.

Regular, consistent attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner.

Ability to read and understand blueprints and/or order specifications.

Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and problem-solving techniques using training, experience and reasoning skills.

Proficient use of math skills.

Strong commitment to quality and working safely.

Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).

Ability to work independently or as a team with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or

One to three months related experience and/or training; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES

Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

Forklift license preferred.

Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.

Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.

Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

The noise level in the work environment is usually LOUD.

Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock.

Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration.

Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection required where posted. Protective gloves, and grinding helmet required. Seatbelt required while operating a forklift.
