ENVIRONMENTAL GEOLOGIST

BBandE team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.

Position Summary

BBandE is currently looking for aProject Geologist, Hydrogeologist, and Environmental Scientistto support industrial and federal environmental remediation projects and programsin ourNorcross, GAoffice.

JobDuties andResponsibilities

– Perform fieldwork that includes collecting soil, sediment, and groundwater samples
– Supervise the installation of soil borings,monitoringwells, and direct push technology (DPT) borings and direct contractors to perform the work as outlined in project work plans
– Interpret the analytical laboratory and geologic data and prepare reports documenting the work performed, results, and findings
– Perform assigned workin accordance withproject schedules, plans, and budgets
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to travel 50% of the time to perform fieldwork
– Support the following:preparing scopes,plans, and instructions for project teams and contractors; planning and managing remediation and restoration projects; reviewingand managingproject data for reporting
– Duties may also include reviewing contractor-generated technical documents, field oversight of contractor activities, tracking schedules and costs, records management of environmental program documents, and environmental project programming

KeyQualifications

– Experience overseeing the installation of borings, logging soil and rock core samples,monitoringwells, and collecting and documenting soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water samplesisrequired
– Experience performing aquifer and remedial testsisrequired
– Proficiencywith Microsoft Windows Suite (Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobeisrequired
– Ability to successfully pass a federal agency background checkisrequired

– Industrial remedial experience is a plus
– Familiarity with RCRA and CERCLA
– Experience collecting soil and water quality samplesin accordance withstandard USEPA field methods
– Experience with installation of wells in a variety of hydrogeologic settings, supporting slug and aquifer tests, and familiarity with basic technologies, including removal actions, air sparging, soil vapor extraction, and chemical injection
– Technical writing of plans, reports, and technical memorandums
– Prior experience in providing project oversight
– Motivated self-starters are requested

Experienceand Education

– ABachelorsdegree or higher inscienceor applicableEngineering (Geology, Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geological Engineering) or other related areasisrequired; advanced science or engineering degree preferred
– GIT/PG or EIT/PEisrequired
– Minimum3years related experienceas environmental professional?isrequired
– 40-hour HAZWOPER certificationisrequired

Physical Requirements

– Must be able to passdrug testing
– Mustbe abletowalk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods for multiple days/weeks
– Abletooperateoffice equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.
– Capable oflight lifting, up to50 lbs.
– Working conditions:
– Ableto work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to the elements)
– Ableto walk/climb/knee/crouch and reach
