Pricing Specialist

The Pricing Specialist is responsible for providing strategic pricing guidance and managing the pricing process for new and existing customers and products. This includes developing new and revised item estimates, managing the quoting process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maximize profitability by developing strategic pricing.

Major Job Responsibilities:

Business Excellence

u2022Set up new items in the order entry system when onboarding new business and customers

u2022Review prior day Booking Report for pricing expectation to ensure there are no price exceptions for each booked item and alert Customer Service for corrections

u2022Maintain accuracy of estimating and quoting process across multiple plants

u2022Review pricing proposal for accuracy and confirm customer specifications for production

u2022Create new item standard cost estimates and update any required re-pricing of current items due to changes from original specifications or requirements

u2022Manage and process all customer requests for quotations (RFQs)

u2022Maintain RFQ process documentation to support pricing approximations for customer requests

u2022Assess and identify internal suppliers to produce customer products when customer specifications are outside the capacity of the assigned Plant

u2022Update data and documentation in the Local Business Operating System on “won” items or changes to existing items

u2022Strive to thoroughly understand all manufacturing processes, equipment and equipment limitations

People and Culture

u2022Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to identify ways to improve margin

u2022Work collaboratively with Customer Service to ensure pricing on customer orders are up to date and appropriately priced to increase margin

u2022Work collaboratively with the Plant production teams to ensure machine capability to fulfill customer orders

u2022Constantly works indoors, in an environment that is climate controlled

u2022Occasionally works outdoors in natural environmental conditions (both hot and cold)

u2022Occasionally works indoors in an environment that is not climate controlled and has low temperatures

u2022The role is mostly sedentary, which entails sitting or being stationary most of the time and occasionally walking/standing for 1-2 hours at a time

Experience:

u2022 Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience in paper manufacturing or related manufacturing industry

Education:

u2022 Required: Bacheloru2019s degree in Business Administration/Finance/Economics/Industrial Engineering or math-related discipline
