Position Details:

The Madison Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is an agricultural partner between local farmers, ranchers, and producers as well as local and state agencies. The SWCD works through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Office of Agricultural Water Policy (OAWP) to assist local landowners with the implementation of Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs). The SWCD is currently seeking a candidate to fill the technical role of Conservation Technician to interface between FDACS, the SWCD, and the local farmers to implement Agricultural Best Management Practices (BMPs) on the landscape. This full-time position will primarily focus on the Suwannee Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP) in Madison, Hamilton, and Suwannee Counties and stationed at the Madison SWCD Office.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position would possess the following skillsets necessary to the perform the following tasks: agriculture experience or college equivalent, familiar with natural resources conservation procedures, Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge to prepare correspondence and administrative reports using a provided work computer. Additionally, the candidate should: work independently, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with others, communicate with the public in a courteous manner, and prioritize workflow.

Pay Rate:

$19.81/hr- Commensurate to Experience
