Geospatial Specialist I

General Purpose of Job
The Geospatial Specialist I is responsible for delivering a wide variety of GIS technical services and data management services to the various departments of the Cooperative. Primary responsibilities include providing custom cartographic services, GIS data support (acquisition, cleaning, maintenance, analysis, conversion, etc.), and maintenance of the real-world assets modeled in GIS.

Education

– Bachelors degree in Geography, or a related field.
– Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
– Associates degree in a related field with six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a GIS environment may be substituted for the required education.

Experience

– Four (4) years of experience in a GIS environment with mapping responsibilities.
– Experience in maintaining, handling, analyzing, and converting spatial/non-spatial data.
– Experience with ERSI ArcGIS platform.
– Experience with GE Smallworld, AutoCAD, FME and SQL preferred.

Other Requirements

– Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
– Ability to progress to Geospatial Analyst II within two (2) years of job award.
– Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
– Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.
