District Technician

Position: Full-time district tree technician. Benefits are paid holidays, annual leave, sick leave, single member health insurance or half for a family plan, single life insurance, retirement 3% match starting at 6 months.

Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, possess a valid drivers license, must be able to operate heavy equipment and lift a minimum of 60lbs. Ag machinery is preferred, as well as computer knowledge. Ability to obtain a ND Commercial Pesticide Certificate. Great communication and organizational skills are a must.

Duties: Assist NRCS with delivery of Farm Bill programs to private landowners to create wildlife habitat and reduce soil erosion. Coordinate and implement conservation on tree plantings with weed barrier, conservation grass seeding and shallow pipe plow rental. Sales of CRP seed, trees and weed barrier. Oversee summer staff during tree planting season. Maintenance of all Wild Rice District equipment. High tunnel and tree shed.
