Design for Six Sigma Master Black Belt – Chief Technical Engineer

Position Overview
Navistar is seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist with a Master Black Belt certification in Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) to join our dynamic Product Development team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the continued deployment of DFSS methodologies across our organization, enhancing our internal curriculum and training programs. Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and expanding DFSS training courses
Teaching engineers the tools and methods of DFSS
Evaluating and overseeing DFSS projects
Coaching and mentoring DFSS Black Belts.
While we prefer candidates to be based at our World Headquarters in Lisle, Illinois, we are open to considering remote work arrangements for the right candidate. This assignment will require global travel.
Responsibilities
Develop strategic plans with senior leaders for DFSS execution
Conduct training courses for employees at multiple facility and remote locations including overseas offices
Assist in the creation of the curriculum of advanced DFSS courses.
Present information with a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures
Guide leadership in the identification of maximum value added projects and approve them for DFSS implementation
Present project value and status to senior leadership
Coach and mentor DFSS Black and Green belts through the completion of their projects
Develop and certify Master Black Belt candidates
Provide expert guidance to resolve any technical issues within the execution of the DFSS projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 15 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of lead experience
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of lead experience
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 9 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience of lead experience
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
