Head Teacher

Join our team and shape young lives! New Creation Academy seeks a passionate Head Teacher toinspire a love of learning through play-based exploration and therapeutic support.

Responsibilities:

– Lead the implementation of New Creation Academy research-based, play-based curriculum, ensuringalignment with Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards.
– Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes childrenssocial-emotional well-being and active engagement in learning.
– Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team dynamic.
– Build strong relationships with families through open communication, parent-teacher conferences,and family workshops.
– Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain accurate records of childrens development and learning progress.
– Work closely with therapists (OT, BT, PT) to integrate therapeutic support into classroomactivities and routines.
– Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay abreast of best practices inearly childhood education.

Qualifications:

– A current center-based Child Development Associate Credential issued from the Council forProfessional Recognition.
– Twelve credits in early childhood education or child development from a regionally accreditedhigher education institution.
– A four year college degree in early childhood education or child development from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
– At least 1,080 hours of documented supervised experience working with children in a program serving children under the age of 6 years.
