Postdoctoral Associate

Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
PhD (or foreign equivalent) in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a closely related field in hand by the start of the appointment. Research experience in cell culture (yeast or mammalian), gene knockout, gene cloning, protein purification, and NGS library preparation. First-author publications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Research experience in DNA damage and repair. Bioinformatics skills for NGS data analysis. Work experience with mouse models.
Brief Description of Duties:
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate to join Dr. Peng Maos research group to study the transcription-coupled DNA repair pathway. The Mao lab uses NGS mapping and bioinformatics techniques to study DNA damage, repair, and mutations in yeast and human cells.
Duties:
- Design, perform, and troubleshoot experiments.
- Collect and analyze data for reporting in scientific journals.
- Participate in manuscript writing.
- Attend weekly lab meetings and present research progress.
- Train other lab members.
- Attend scientific conferences and give oral or poster presentations.
- Other duties as assigned

FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
