JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a part-time Research Assistant/Associate to help with the conduct of multiple clinical trials in patients with chronic liver disease.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

Manage clinical investigative studies by helping to schedule experiments, and coordinate the action of facilities
Collect and archive data from experiments and present to a variety of audiences
Develop, write, and implement procedures for research projects and experiments
Assure compliance with Institutional Review Board requirements and assist investigators on matters of human subject protection
Represent department research interests at institutional workshops and meetings
Publish papers as co-author
Assist other research staff in the daily operations of the research group, including those related to research study visits

Typically requires a Bachelors degree or higher and enrolled or planning to enroll in medical school in the near future, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Previous experience in clinical research while not required, is highly desirable.
