Support Engineer

Job Family: Engineering :

Responsible for complex activities associated with the Maintenance and Engineering group’s goals, performance, and business plans. The role will use sound engineering judgement to maintain and support safety, operations and compliance of two 850 MW natural gas and oil power generating units. Will design, develop, and improve power plant operations. Will maintains plant facilities mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement in a safe, efficient, and economical working condition. Will lead functional teams and projects during outage and non-outage periods.

Specialty: Engineering

Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures, and provides advice on issues within the engineering field.

Position Level: Staff

Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills; Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers; Solves a range of straightforward problems; Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures; Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction

Candidate Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering from a college or university accredited by ABET or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent. Level/Title of engineer will be based on years of related engineering experience

Preferred Knowledge and Experience : Power Plant Experience
