Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We specialize in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for various industries including electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance in more than 120 countries. With a recent expansion allowing for over a 50% production increase, we are currently in need of MIG welders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine sequence and methods of assembling components.
– Read and interpret work orders.
– Use basic hand tools such as tape measurers and specialty equipment.
– Learn and operate all equipment within the work area (cell).
– Perform rework as required.
– Support production system initiatives and participate in continuous improvement events.
– Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train).
– Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on material applying knowledge of shop math and layout techniques.
– Perform MIG welding using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
– Inspect assembly/components for conformance to specifications.
– Trim, file, grind, sand, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools.
– Willingness and ability to train new/current associates.
– Follow established safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
– Maintain daily time records.
– Other job duties as assigned, which may vary by location.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 3 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in DALEVILLE, Virginia.

Work Environment

Manufacturing/production environment. Not climate controlled. Fast-paced and performance-driven.

Dress Code:
– Preferably plain colored T-Shirts (Blue/Grey)
– Jeans
– Steel-toed boots

Shift:
– First Shift: 6:30am – 3:00pm (3 welders needed)
– Second Shift: 3:15pm – 11:45pm (11 welders needed)

– First Shift: Works overtime BEFORE their shift, and some Saturdays.
– Second Shift: Works overtime AFTER their shift, and some Friday nights.
– Third Shift: Works overtime BEFORE their shift.

All shifts can require overtime and are likely to work 3 out of 4 Saturdays of the month.
