Supervisor-Patient Access

Supervises daily staff activities for Patient Access, including centralized scheduling, switchboard, PST registration, and benefits advising.

Reports to: Director of Patient Access; CFO

Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree Required in Finance, Business, Health Care Administration or other directly related field preferred, may be substituted year for year by directly related experience.

Training in Handle with Care is Preferred.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Competency in operation of standard office equipment such as computer, printer, calculator, fax machine, scanner, copier. and in utilizing Microsoft products such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to accept regular on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicate need. Must be available to report to facility within 30 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by Department Director, ER Charge Nurse, House Supervisor or Administrator on call.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Time management and organizational skills are required to complete projects on deadlines.

Minimum Work Experience
Three to five years of experience in patient access/registration and/or Hospital/Physician Billing Operations.
