MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Masters Degree in Nursing.
2. National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
3. Licensure or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
EXPERIENCE:
1. BLS certification required
2. 2 Years acute care experience required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Masters level education as Medical/Surgical (as applicable) Advanced Practice Professional preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Acute care, critical care experience preferred.

1. Manages comprehensive and individualized care for patients and families in the Inpatient/Critical care phase of hospitalization
2. With the collaboration of Critical Care or by following established protocol, orders additional tests or consults to complete the preoperative and/or pre-procedure workup.
3. Performs, interprets and communicates results of common diagnostic tests.
4. Consults and communicates with Critical Care and surgical services regarding abnormal findings in the evaluations of patients.
5. Develops a comprehensive individualized plan of care for patients that include teaching, discharge planning and necessary referral to other members of the health care team.
6. Participates in physician/team rounds.
7. Identifies unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates appropriate intervention with appropriate resources.
8. Recognizes emergency situations and initiates effective emergency care.
9. Demonstrates critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in clinical decision making by the identification, evaluation and management of the individual needs of patients/families.
