The Challenge
We are looking for a skilled mechanic II to join our Shallotte Equipment team.
In this role you will:
– Perform skilled mechanic work involving servicing and repairs that vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
– Perform skilled mechanic work, including prevent maintenance, work on tires, tubes, wheels and rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, and hydraulic systems.
What You Bring
– Experience troubleshooting and repairing 1 of the following: light, medium, heavy duty, or farm equipment brake components.
– Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1 of the following: light, medium, heavy duty truck, and heavy equipment.
– Diagnostics experience on basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
– Basic hydraulic system repair experience, including component replacement and hoses.
– Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
– Ability to work during any bad weather, such as snow, ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that may lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
– Ability to work in accordance with all safety regulations.
– Organization skills to prepare and maintain paperwork related to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
– Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
– Strength and agility to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
– Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
– Ability to demonstrate commitment to provide safe working environment by leading by example.
– Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
– Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
– A Class A Commercial Drivers License with Tanker (N )endorsement. (Dont have it? Still apply! You can earn it through our on-the-job training program within 360 days of hire.)
– Safety toe shoes.
Notes
– A pre-employment drug screening is required, and we will conduct a background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
– When needed, we will need you to work in emergency situations and bad weather.
– We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
