GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and basic knowledge of golf shop operations and general practices with at least 2 years’ experience. Actively pursuing PGA membership (if a PGA Apprentice) in a timely manner though the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) program l

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES , include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

The Assistant Golf Professional assist the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the golf operation; tee times, course play, tournaments and outings, lessons, merchandising, training, etc. Able to provide highly efficient and superior customer service, maintain and provide daily records to assist head golf professional with reports and supervising staff and Volunteer Staff.

Assist Head professional in day-to-day operations

Assumes Head Golf Professional’s duties in Head Professionals absence

Assists Head Professional with hiring, training and supervising Staff and Volunteer Staff

Track and verify all players and guests, green fees, golf cars, range fees and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and recordkeeping.

Provide golf instruction and assist in conducting golf clinics.

Assist in tournament operations

Keep head professional updated on all important matters

Help oversee all staff in daily operations

Assist in making sure the golf shop is maintained in a neat and clean manner daily.

Assist in the monthly inventory.

Coordinate the receiving and pricing merchandise with the Professional Staff.

Ensure the daily, weekly, and monthly procedures are being followed.

Ensure that all golf shop supplies, and all reports are maintained correctly.

Self-Starter

Engage the members and guests when they walk into the golf shop.

Maintain, update, and utilize customer database

Provide professional club repair and club fitting services

Assist with proper maintenance and recordkeeping of cart fleet

Always greet members and their guests in appropriate and prompt manner.

Observance of the policies and procedures of the golf operation.

Accuracy of work and demonstrates ability to follow through on assigned tasks.

Effectively and promptly responds to members and guests concerns and/or problems.

Prepares written reports and memos in a clear and concise manner.

Maintains files, follows-up on delegated tasks, and manages time well.

Consistent and fair in managing others.

Encourages other staff member’s involvement in making decisions.

Has the ability to anticipate problems and addresses them in a prompt and appropriate manner.

Demonstrates the ability to work independently.

Maintains a balance between the overall objectives of the golf operation and its needs on a day-to-day basis.

Takes initiative to make suggestions and decisions to improve the overall service of the golf operation.

Communicates effectively with members and guests.

Play with members and guests.

Continue to work on your game
