Job Summary
The Learning Consultant position is imperative to the organization and acts as a central contact for learning initiatives. This individual performs training needs assessments, analyzes best methods to effectively deploy training, and designs, develops, coordinates, schedules, and implements training content while ensuring a consistent learning experience across the organization.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
Acts as a central contact for learning initiatives across the organization. Receives, prioritizes, and acts upon such requests and initiatives as appropriate.
Consult with internal customers to analyze training needs and identify appropriate training delivery.
Manages multiple projects and provides ongoing customer communication and support.
Recommends appropriate learning initiatives to the internal customer and collaborates to develop a plan to execute applicable training.
Coordinates the implementation of learning initiatives throughout the organization to ensure consistency and effective use of resources. Ensures learning solutions are aligned with organizational strategies.
Applies a systematic approach to the design, development, and delivery of compliance and performance improvement initiatives.
Develops training curriculum.
Utilizes the learning management system to initiate, enroll, propagate, and record training.
Directs and coordinates 3rd party training providers to design, develop, and deliver training.
Effectively uses adult learning and cognitive learning theory to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Experience and Education
High School Diploma or GED, bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience required, either in Learning and Developement or in Oil & Gas, Energy, or related Industry.
Required Skills
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Training coordination, delivery, and evaluation
Strong oral, written, and facilitation skills
Ability to meet strict deadlines
Attention to detail
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong ability to work and collaborate with various levels of the organization
Ability to manage multiple assignments and progress them simultaneously
Additional skills preferred:
Learning Management System usage and training administration
Curriculum Design and Adult Learning Theory
Computer Based Training (CBT) or Web Based Training (WBT) development
Perform training needs assessment in the Oil and Gas industry
Knowledge and application of safety principles (to include federal and state regulatory organizations)
Experience within the Oil and Gas industry
