Summary Of Position
Assumes a leadership role in the daily operations and ongoing development and evaluation of the program. Focusing on student engagement. fostering learning. And modeling professionalism to produce competently trained individuals ready for professional careers. Exhibits oversight of ongoing accreditation including the maintenance of compliance with the commission on Accreditation for Health informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) standards and assures teaching and training methods enlist best practices and those endorsed by the profession. Remains involved in all aspects of didactic and practical instruction as needed.
Position Information
Assists with Student recruitment. Retention. And job placement efforts. Fosters a positive and interactive learning environment that encourages Student participation and critical thinking.
Plans, organizes, teaches. And provides feedback to promote and direct Student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students. Departments. And university officials via university provided tools and resources. Remains current regarding advancements in the field of Health Information Management to integrate relevant information into the curriculum. Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the overall academic experience and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program. Monitors Student progress. Advise students. Record grades/academic progress. And Submit reports as requested.

Work Schedule: Typically. Monday through Friday. Including Some evenings. And the possibility of Some weekend days.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Certification in one or more of the following: Registered Health /information Technician 1RH/T), registered health information Administrator 1RH/T), Certified Coding 5pecialist 1CC5), and/or Certified Coding 5pecialist – physician based 1CC5-P).
Minimum Qualifications: At least an associate degree in health information management-related field plus a bachelors degree; practical/industry experience in the professional discipline; and certification in one or more of the following: Registered Health /information Technician 1RH/T), registered health information Administrator 1RH/T), Certified Coding 5pecialist 1CC5), and/or Certified Coding 5pecialist – physician based 1CC5-P).
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in health information management-related field; previous teaching experience at the college/community college level.
