Mainframe FOCUS COBOL Programmer

“Job#: 2045597 Job Description: Mainframe FOCUS and COBOL ProgrammerContract through 5/30/2025Location:Ideally will be located in Minneapolisarea and able to come onsite 3 days/weekProject:Will be working on set up and data validation of files on our mainframe to support a system conversion to a new vendor.Responsibilities:Data validation/comparisonWork with downstream system groups to transmit and test data filesWork with tech team to determine when/how to decommission mainframe files (to meet go-live in May, 2025 we need to continue to use mainframe files but then post-go live will look at pulling off mainframe and decommissioning )Requirements:Looking for someone with experience in mainframe FOCUS and mainframe COBOL.They should be experienced with IBM JCL, and IBM procedures.Need someone to be able to read and interpret code but not write any new programs on the mainframe.Looking for senior level experience and/or can be lesser amt of years of experience if they meet the criteria.Preferred Skills:Autosys transmissions, file compares using File Manager.Interview Process:o How many rounds? 1 round with panel of 2 interviewerso Video, phone, or in person? Video and in person (one interviewer is in Mpls. and the other will be on Video)o How technical will the interviews be? Technical enough to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of mainframe experienceDescription:Expertise with RPG400, RPG III, COBOL, or SYNON in an AS/400 environment, or COBOL or C in one of a variety of mid-range platforms such DEC VAX or HP3000. AS/400 Programmer, VAX Programmer, HP Programmer. Performs all or part of full life cycle development process with an emphasis on developing business applications, supporting existing applications, modifying/enhancing them support current needs, and implementing the changes necessary as the needs of the business units change.
