Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will work in an exciting, fast-paced, dynamic business environment focused on growth of our business and internal customer satisfaction. The candidate will work closely with line of business teams, other developers and analysts to deliver on projects/initiatives required for the Banks ongoing business operations, customer opportunities and revenue generation. The candidate will work extensively with Microsoft technologies and will possess significant experience as a developer in financial services. The preferred candidate will work independently and in teams analyzing, designing, and developing business intelligence solutions using coding standards and best practices in close partnership with business teams, architecture, and IT leaders; as well as, mentoring junior staff by providing guidance and design consultation.

Essential Functions
Adhere to FDIC and FRB data regulatory guidelines for SDLC
Design, develop, test and deploy ETL solutions, reports, etc. which meet defined requirements using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Python, ADF, T-SQL and other languages and tools. In addition, Synapse skills are a positive add.
Import data from 3rd party sources (Using APIs, SFTP, Flat Files, Websites, etc.) to improve the Banks ability to market, control, and enhance client and / or banker experience – data imports must align with approved data architectures and standards
Contribute to requirements refinement, analysis and design for all-sized projects
Improve Data Environment for our business partners by improving daily job efficiency and success, resolving defects, enhancements, Interfacing with Data Governance to maintain Data Catalog, reviewing metrics for areas of improvement, automating daily data team functions, etc.
Adhere to best practice development, testing, deployment and operations policies, procedures and guidelines and contribute to the further refinement of those guidelines
Work with DBAs to determine how to meet service level agreements, and assist in defining SLAs
Adhere to data quality standards, dat governance standards, coding standards and SDLC
Contribute to Data Democratization of Northwest by working with Analysts and LOB partners to design and implement complex user stories
Maintain awareness of current data technology trends and recommend enhancements that will improve the data environment
Write technical specifications for data integrations, solutions, etc.
Create and maintain design and data flow diagrams
Knowledgeable in best practice Data Warehouse design (Star Schema)

Additional Essential Functions
Ensure compliance with Northwests policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
Work as part of a team
Work with on-site equipment

Additional Responsibilities
Maintain expertise in current technology stacks and best practices to recommend changes that can have positive impact on the enterprise
Ensure best practice align information security and regulatory requirements in SDLC
Works with team to complete project requests
Troubleshoot and resolve daily issues with the perspective of minimizing incidents and developing supporting documentation that may be used by support teams
Provide mentorship to junior developers
Develop and execute plans to install new software and custom software changes following Change Management disciplines

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelors Degree Bachelors degree required (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development / Programming, Sciences, Mathematics, Data Management)  Or
Masters Degree Masters degree in any of the following Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Development / Programming, Sciences, Mathematics, Data Management

Work Experience
6 – 8 years 6 – 8 experience as a developer in banking
8 – 12 years 8 – 12 BI/Analytics development experience using Microsoft technology stack (e.g. C#, SQL Server, .NET) or equivalent technologies and toolset, e.g. Java, Python, MySQL, etc.
2 – 6 years 2 – 6 Writing SQL statements for relational database management systems like SQL Server, MYSQL, etc.

Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of object oriented programming using C#, Java or similar contemporary programming languages
Knowledge of relational data model
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS (tabular model) and equivalent technologies available from other vendors
Ability to write SQL statements for relational database management systems like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL and using contemporary NOSQL databases like Mongo or Cassandra
Ability to work with large datasets in building pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional data integration technologies using APIs, SQL Server SSIS, etc.
Ability to work with application development and SQL on Hadoop
Skill in working with and optimizing existing applications and helping to move them in production
Skill in working with source code repositories like Microsoft Team Foundation Services (TFS), GitHub, SVN or other equivalent tools Experienced in branching, merging, release management, versioning, etc;
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or any other cloud ecosystem.
Skill in incorporating best practices on information security into development efforts;
Ability to work within a team environment and possessing communication skills necessary to function with a team
Ability to monitor, support, and trouble-shoot applications/systems running on Windows servers and Microsoft SQL servers
Knowledge of development solutions adhering to software development lifecycle and technology standards
Ability to work in agile environments. Exposure to Scrum framework
Knowledge of message queuing technolog
