Climbing Wall Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY:

Monitors and enforces current industry and in-house belay techniques and
safety guidelines on the Climbing Wall.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Responsible for user group and patron monitoring during staffed hours on
the climbing wall.
2. Provide a high level of customer service to Community Center guests.
3. Enforce safety standards, written rules, facility policies and
current industry belay and safety techniques.
4. May be responsible for instructing classes and leading outdoor climbing
trips.
5. Responsible for certifying climbers for “Climbing Wall Safety
Orientation and Belay Test” to have access to wall during un-staffed hours.

Possess previous climbing and/or climbing wall experience.
Possess strong customer service skills.
Ability to enforce safety standards in accordance with facility
regulations and industry best practices.
Ability to work independently, use good judgment, take
responsibility, diplomatically respond, and handle problems, and be an
effective leader and role model.
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with
other staff members, parents and participants.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
Necessary:
Must be 16 years of age or older.
CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of hire date.
