am plus $2 night shift Differential

Night Shift – Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday plus
$2 shift Differential

Day Shift- Every other Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday

Job Summary

This position is accountable for the timely installation, preventative
maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex plant equipment and
facilities that are instrumental in the efficient functioning of
automated production lines and a manufacturing facility operating on a
24 hour/day, 7 days/week operation.

The incumbent is assigned jobs by the supervisor or a superintendent and
is expected to complete most jobs, including those of a complex nature,
with little supervision.

All assignments must be carried out under stringent safety and
sanitation standards. Quality requirements are constantly monitored,
necessitating equipment fabrication and machine operations within
specific tolerances and operational specifications to ensure the
delivery of food products on time and at the lowest cost by conforming
exactly to the customers requirements. Participation of employees in
the implementation of improved concepts is encouraged in all production
processes.

Skills required include an intermediate level in proficiency in welding,
plumbing, electrical repair, instrumentation, running lathes and milling
machines, fabricating and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Additionally, the incumbent must own and maintain a basic set of hand
tools.

Principle Accountabilities:

Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and
preventive maintenance on equipment according to manufacturers
manuals, diagrams, sketches etc. This includes, but is not limited to,
pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, drying equipment, motors, VFDs, and control
instruments to sustain and improve operations in a manner that minimizes
downtime.
Ability to setup and operate simple machining operations including but
not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking
tools to make and repair parts. Ability to perform basic welding tasks.
Ability to understand mechanical and electrical blue prints, sketches or
schematics of complex objects and circuitry as requested in work orders
or to perform job duties.
Is aware of, and can demonstrate, maintenance best practices such as
alignments of sheaves and sprockets.
Identifies needed parts, supplies, and repair items working in the
CMMS.
Provides support and back up for other members of department as needed
by leadership.
Assures compliance with 6S and housekeeping standards.
Participates in Continuous Improvement activities.
Performs basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
Provides assistance to lower-level mechanics and leadership to small
teams. Performs more advanced functions as a part of training and
development.
Complies with all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical
instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe
behaviors and conditions.

Must be able to creatively apply experience and common sense to a
variety of situations, processes, and people. Must be able to make
technical decisions and support the staff on technical issues. Possess
the ability to manage several projects concurrently. Be able to plan
work, order parts, and coordinate downtime to complete work orders. Be
able to resolve issues which may include conflicts between employees,
equipment malfunctions, and variations in operating conditions

Computer Skills:

Must demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft Office suite and be able to
effectively use Maintenance Management Software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly
required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand;
walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and
arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or
smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and
occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
