Program Manager, Cleveland Humanities Collaborative

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Program Manager is a key member of the leadership team for the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative (CHC), a grant-funded initiative charged with increasing the number of transfer students from local community colleges who matriculate to Case Western Reserve University to study the humanities or humanistic social sciences. Following best practices for supporting underrepresented, transfer, First Generation, and nontraditional aged students, the program manager helps students form robust and meaningful connections to the university community, and provides support in cohort building, locating relevant internships, and guidance with career planning. The program manager collaborates with the Student Affairs Assistant Dean for Transfer Students and Cleveland Humanities Collaborative directors to manage relationships with the program¿s two-year college partners, serving as a point of contact for those institutions. The program manager oversees fiscal management of the program¿s $1.4 million budget and subaward agreements with community college partners. This position manages grant-reporting requirements, annual reports and reallocation requests, and facilitates Cleveland Humanities Collaborative¿s external evaluation and assessment. The program manager may also participate in transfer student information and recruiting events at partner institutions, local, and national professional organizations, including but not limited to the Ohio Transfer Council (OTC), the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS), and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide organizational management for all Cleveland Humanities Collaborative activities, including leadership of enrollment and student career preparation. Work closely with Student Affairs and the Assistant Dean for Transfer Students in support of Cleveland Humanities Collaborative students and scholars following best practices for supporting underrepresented, transfer, first generation, and nontraditional aged students. Collaborate with partner schools on transfer- and concurrent-enrollment-focused recruiting. Schedule student workshops, coordinate community mentorship and career advising opportunities for Cleveland Humanities Collaborative scholars, and organize summer faculty seminars. Oversee the residential summer Collaboratory program and cohort-building activities, and provide oversight of student research and internship projects. (25%)

Serve as the primary public representative of grant activities. Collaborate with Cleveland Humanities Collaborative director(s) to develop strategies for marketing and outreach. Work with grant participants at partner schools and Case Western Reserve University to create outreach materials according to brand guidelines of both institutions. Maintain programming schedules and update website as needed. Lead social media engagement, with emphasis on maintaining public relations and developing new student networking opportunities. Support Cleveland Humanities Collaborative director(s) in assessing the program¿s mission and strategic goals. Represent Case Western Reserve University and the grant at relevant local, state, and national conferences. Serve as the primary point of contact for students and faculty interested in learning more about the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative¿s work. (25%)

Oversee fiscal management of the Cleveland Humanities Collaborative¿s $1.4 million budget at Case Western Reserve University and collaborate with Cuyahoga Community College to plan and report usage of their $1.5 million budget, providing a clear fiscal picture of the grant¿s total $3 million in funding.
