Job Description:

Title: Benefit Manager
Pay Rate: $50/hr – $65/hr
Location: Remote (EST or CST)
Type: 12-month contract
Must Haves:

– 15 years of experience in Benefits
– Background in BenAdmin, Medical, 401k, and Rx (Candidates without these skills will not be considered)
– Understanding of laws and their impact on benefit plans, with the ability to work closely with internal and external legal counsel
– Experience in evaluating and enhancing existing benefit programs

Job Description:
Comprehensive Benefit Administration:

– Oversee and ensure compliance for US benefit programs, including medical/pharmacy, Spending and Saving Accounts, and Benefits Administration
– Manage vendor performance, account management, review meetings, and onsite visits

Continuous Improvement:

– Identify and implement improvements in benefit administration to deliver an outstanding employee experience
– Analyze utilization and financial data of benefit plans, recommend strategies to address trends, and review rates/renewals and performance guarantees with benefit plan analysts

Collaboration:

– Partner with the Health Benefits lead to implement changes for company-sponsored benefit groups
– Work with the Communications team and other benefits plan members to develop, implement, and manage benefit plan communication materials

Compliance:

– Ensure compliance with federal laws, including ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code, for assigned benefit plans
– Collaborate with legal counsel to develop required notices, plan amendments, plan documents, and other necessary documentation

Data-Driven Evaluation:

– Use a data-driven approach to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of current programs

Employee Assistance:

– Assist, advise, and counsel employees and dependents on complex or sensitive benefit-related questions via email, phone, walk-ups, and drop-in sessions

Qualifications:

– College degree required; masters degree is a plus

General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

– Good understanding of the industry and associated business challenges and opportunities
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
– Good problem-solving skills
– Ability to work under pressure
