General Job Description
We have immediate openings for Clock Assemblers to fabricate/produce post clocks and large tower clocks. These clocks are found in city centers, golf courses, universities, and other outdoor areas. The ideal candidate is comfortable using hand tools and takes pride in the work they do every day.
Specific Job Requirements
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints or sketches related to the creation of large clocks, specifically clock faces and hands from specified material. This material includes cast aluminum, aluminum shapes, metal, cast acrylic, lexan, and other plastics.
Attach hands to time piece and test mechanics to make sure the time piece is keeping correct time.
Fabricate clock casing, attach time piece, clock face and hands according to plans.
Collaborate with design staff and other team members to refine designs and ensure manufacturability.
Measure, cut, shape and assemble materials related to large scale clocks to specified dimensions.
If this is a restoration carefully disassemble existing clock, then replicate any damaged or non-functioning pieces.
Use machine and hand tools to cut and form pieces to required dimensions. Reinforces parts if necessary.
Use hand and bench power tools, torsion wrenches, jigs and assembly fixtures. May use precision measuring devices.
Perform light welding on aluminum shapes and castings.
Maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have a minimum of 5 years of general fabrication experience
Ability to follow through on assignments in a timely manner
Proven experience as a fabricator or similar role
Strong knowledge of materials and fabrication techniques
Experience reading AutoCAD prints
Five or more years of experience with hand tools and general fabrication equipment.
Layout and measuring experience
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and with others.
Basic computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
Aluminum welding experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 LB.
Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time.
