Welder / Fabricator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Metal fabrication-variety of welding, fabrication, new
and refrubish type work. 1st shift in the field and in the shop Custom
manufacturer-large parts assemblies, machining and fabrication 1st shift
is 7am-3:30 with occasional overtime. Fabrication and installation
services to the mining, food and dairy, wood pulp, paper and pollution
control industries. We are seeking welders/fabricators. First shift
employment. Hours 7:00 – 3:30. Monday – Friday. Occasional overtime
including nights/weekends. Shop and field work. Occasional but not
significant travel required. Ability to work at heights occasionally.
Ability to read or learn to read blueprints. Successful candidate will
have above average spatial and mechanical abilities. Occasional heavy
lifting required. A focus on safety is critical. Clean driving record.
Union membership is required. The union package includes health
insurance and a pension plan. No experience is reuired. We will provide
training . We also have trade apprenticeships in Sheet Metal/Millwrights
available. These are 5 year programs that result in a Journeyman
designation. Long term, permanet position, good benefits.
$32-$35/hour is the wage range in this union position. Install
boilers, containers, and other structures. Study engineering drawings
and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.
Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears,
flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch,
drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components. Align and fit
parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges,
drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. Move parts into position, manually or
with hoists or cranes. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in metal fabrication and welding. Successful candidate will
have above average spatial and mechanical abilities. Occasional heavy
lifting required. A focus on safety is critical. Clean driving record.
