Teacher / Site Supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for the daily supervision of the Head
Start Center and staff. Ensures the Center meets and maintains Full
Funded Enrollment, which includes the active recruitment of children and
families. Communicates organizational vision to the employees of the
organization and ensures there is effective communication flow within
the organization. Ensures compliance with the Head Start Program
Performance Standards and Wisconsin DCF Child Care Licensing
Regulations. Ensures the effective utilization of federal resources.
Provides a safe, successful, and well supervised educational setting for
children (classroom and outdoor play area). Promotes the social,
emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Head Start children.
Develops individual goals for children, provides on-going assessment on
progress and facilitates transition into kindergarten. Ensures
compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and WI DCF
Child Care Licensing Regulations. OTHER EXPERIENCE AND
QUALIFICATIONS: Have at least 320 hours of experience as a teacher or
assistant teacher in a group childcare center or other approved setting
or have at least 320 hours of experience as a licensee of a family
childcare center under ch. DCF 250 in accordance with Wisconsin State
Day Care Licensing DCF 251.05(3)(e)3.c. Knowledge of how children learn
through multiple intelligences. Knowledge of child growth and
development. Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and
interventions. Skill and willingness to deal with sensitive family
situations in a non-threatening and professional manner. Daily kneeling,
stooping, bending, lifting, and sitting on the floor to attend to
childrens needs. The ability to carry and lift up to 25lbs safely.
Arrives at work on time, punctually attends and actively participants in
all required meetings, training and overnight retreats and training.
Ability to respond appropriately (both mentally and physically) to an
emergency or a crisis. Ability to work as a team member collaborating
with parents and community resources. Patient and professional attitude
toward program participants while managing a busy workload requires good
interpersonal skills. Respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member
and participant in program activities. Projects a professional work
