Summary THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a FABRICATION SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0789000 and is part of the ND 119 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, National Guard. Responsibilities Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedules and approves leave of subordinates. Sets performance requirements and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. Implements safety regulatory requirements. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. MAX MILITARY GRADES: SMSgt COMPATIBILE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: 2A790 AFSC is not a disqualifying factor of eligibility, however, selected applicant must obtain the compatible AFSC. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicants record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have the experience or training which demonstrates the following general experience: 1) Organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; 2) Ability to explain manuals and work procedures; and 3) Prepare production records, work records and reports. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 36 months of specialized experience which includes: 1) Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors; 2) Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use all types of hand tools, and measuring equipment related to this occupational series; and 3) Experience demonstrating the ability to set up, operate, and use tools of the trade to make or repair parts, tools, mechanisms, and machines. In addition to the journeymen level WS experience listed above, applicants must also possess the supervisory experience which includes: 1) ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower graded personnel; 2) Review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; 3) Experience in supervising and communicating shop operations and processes to shop personnel; and 4) Skilled in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Education To receive credit for education, you must provide supporting documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
