Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Extension Program Coordinator [EPC]
implements Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy educational
programs designed to foster the acquisition of knowledge and the
development of individuals and communities.

Duties & Responsibilities

– Program Coordination and Development

Conservation@Home Program

Facilitates the program planning of educational activities in
conjunction with educators and volunteers requests for the
Conservation@Home program.

Manage program requests for the Conservation@Home program.

Conducts the evaluation of program activities and serves as the
point of contact for homeowners and applicants for the
Conservation@Home program.

Ensure all applicants for the Conservation@Home program meet the
initial criteria for the program.

Maintain member relationships for the Conservation@Home program.

Assist with developing and maintaining programmatic support for
implementing activities and related services for the
Conservation@Home program.

Assist with help desk questions and contents and redirect to
appropriate educators.

Coordinate and disseminate newsletter for the Conservation@Home
program.

Develops plans to involve volunteers in educational activities,
which include recruitment and training.

Coordinates the logistics and activities for program-related tasks,
such as travel arrangements, food, equipment, facilities, and other
supplies.

Network and/or collaborate with appropriate designated organizations
and groups to assess needs and

develops educational activities to address those needs.

Serve as Extensions representative for Conservation@Home for
partnered events.

– Program Coordination and Development

Natural Resources, Environment, and Energy (NREE) Program Assist
with the development and maintenance of programmatic support for the
implementation of activities and related services for the NREE
program. Disseminate educational information provided by Extension
professionals for the NREE program. Assist with developing marketing
plans and goals to recruit participants for educational activities;
develop advertising and publicity for the activities for the NREE
program. Coordinate the logistics and activities for specific
program-related tasks, such as travel arrangements,

food, equipment, facilities, and other supplies for the NREE
program. Work with staff and volunteers to collect, process and
maintain program r cords and data for the NREE program. Submit
activity reports and program reports for the NREE program. Comply
with all Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity policies
and guidelines in all aspects of Extension work; assists Unit staff
with data collection for Affirmative Action, Gender, and

Targeted reports for the NREE and Conservation@Home programs.
Provide quarterly data for NREE educators on forest preserve
programming for Conservation@Home and other NREE programs. Assist in
fulfilling the scope of work for the Forest Preserve District of
Cook County. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Physical Demands

To perform the functions of this position, the employee will be required
to perform work both within an office and outside in the communities
that are served, and must have the capability to travel from one
location to the other in a timely fashion. Employee is responsible for
securing personal transportation. A valid drivers license is
preferred. Some work will be required during evenings and/or weekends.
When working, the employee may be exposed to a variety of environmental
factors to include, but not limited to, hot or cold weather, exposure to
noise and allergens, and uneven ground. In performing the functions of
