The Role You Play

A staff nurse at PMHS is typically working clinic hours of Monday to
Friday, 8-5PM. Our nursing team assists our providers with psychiatric
medication management and provide guidance to patients about those
medications. This position will be working with our substance use
clients, specifically those in the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
program.

– The Day-to-Day
1. Provide onsite nursing support to medical staff according to
scope of license and/or certification
2. Induce assigned patients with buprenorphine and manage the
patient during that time
3. Provide substance use recovery information to clients including
but not limited to lockboxes, Narcan training, and agency
resources
4. Handling medication phone calls or emails regarding general
information, side effects, and other questions complaints and
concerns
5. Ordering and giving injections on a weekly basis
6. Taking vitals for all in-office patient visits
– Other Duties As Assigned
1. Manage sample medications as sent by medical salespeople
2. Assist clients with applications for patient assistance in
partner drug company programs
