Software Developer – Java/C#

DirectEmployers is looking for a software engineer with back­end development experience. This is a direct hire position in the Product Development department. This position is remote, but may require occasional travel to our headquarters in Indianapolis, IN. Your work day must include the core hours of 9:30 AM-4:00 PM EST.

This full time position will be part of a team of developers working in an Agile environment. Duties will include creation and maintenance of custom screen scraping, ETL, and reporting software dealing primarily with job data. Candidates experienced with complex systems involving large amounts of data, database access, and optimizations for speed and efficient resource usage are preferred. You will write a lot of Java and C# code and will be working with SQL Server and Windows Server systems. Its helpful if you can also write Javascript (ES6).

DirectEmployers developers create and maintain a suite of applications targeted at human resources workers. DirectEmployers has unique trade knowledge and data in the human resources space including corporate recruiting, compliance with employment law, OFCCP audits, and more. Developers deal with data ingest, batch data processing, real-time data processing, storage, and presenting data back to our users in a timely and relevant way. While our datasets arent huge by industry standards, they are big enough to present a number of scale challenges.

Required:

3 years of experience in development
Experience in Java
Knowledge of SQL Server is required

Preferred:

Experience with complex systems
Experience with handling large amounts of data and high traffic databases
Experience optimizing for speed and efficient resource usage
Experience with C#, XML, JSON, XSL, REST API, HTML, Javascript, AWS
