Job Summary
Barrett Paving Materials Inc., Internship program is designed to educate the candidate (current college student) about the different aspects of the aggregate business
Main Responsibilities
Spend extensive field time at our aggregate facilities to gain experience in mining operations, and the processing of aggregates
Work closely with the Geologist to understand the total mining process and planning
Complete a mutually beneficial project
Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
Learning how to work as part of the region team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company
Skills
Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with computers
Good organizational skills
The ability to work well with all levels of the organizations
Motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
Some travel required
Education
Enrolled in a Mining Engineer Bachelor’s degree program
