The On-Boarding Project Specialist/Coordinator is a non-exempt role responsible for providing a high level concierge type experience within the Target retail program. The OPS is responsible for creating a specialized onboarding experience for all new hires to the Target Tech Program that leads to sustainable and scalable improvement in all retention metrics. The OPS will actively engage newly on-boarded employees in an effort to enhance the new hire experience and provide for seamless transition into the store location within the Target program. The OPS is responsible for fostering and maintaining a positive working relationship within the retail location and it’s various managerial and support center employees.

This is a full-time position designed to enhance the new hire experience and provide a more efficient on-boarding experience.

Essential Functions:

Weekly Responsibilities

Personalized Welcome Letters to All Clears

Phone call next day to All Clears

Email Setup

OneSource Logins

Target Tech Shirts

Q&A

Online Training Follow Up – Quick, Complete, Accurate

20-30 phone calls p/day includes multiple texts and emails

Technical Support with Email, OneSource, Windows credentials, etc.

Target POS Numbers

Works with approximately 10-15 people each day

Regular coordination with Support Team, Recruiting, and ESG

Support Team – T-Shirts, POA Info, POS Info, etc.

Recruiting – Employee information

ESG – Paperless Pay Issues, Benefits, etc.

Constant communication updates provided to DMs

Facilitates handoff between new hire and DM

1st Day Follow Up (will eventually include 30 day follow up)

Bi-Weekly New Hire Call

Content includes:

Welcome and Congratulations

MarketSource Intro and Core Values

Target Tech program overview

4E Strategy

Great 2.0 Intro

30 Day Roadmap

Weekly Classroom Training – New Hire Orientation

Covers 4 geographic areas; content includes:

Dress Code, Professionalism, Partnership

Important Contacts – Who to Call (Benefits, Support Team, Direct Deposit, Paperless Pay, TMIC, etc.)

4E Strategy – Breakout Groups

GREAT 2.0 (90-120 minutes) including Digital Services

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

Education: BA/BS College Degree preferred, or equivalent business experience

Minimum 1-5 years of experience in field

Past retail knowledge a plus

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:

Strong Verbal and Written Skills

Ability to conduct positive, professional conversations via telephone

Ability to be self-motivated and work in the field independently without supervision

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Training and classroom-style facilitation skills

Professionally handles access to confidential information

Highly organized; capable of managing multiple tasks

Additional Job Requirements:

Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged sitting

Performs additional job duties as assigned

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds independently
