Overview
Fairview Health Services is searching for an Advanced Nutrition Aide on the University Campus (East Bank) , located in Minneapolis, Minnesota! This position is (40hours per 2-week period), on day shift .
This position is responsible for guiding patients through room service process by phone, and speaking with hospital staff regarding diet order information. The Advanced Nutrition Aide is an excellent opportunity to build customer service skills, and gain experience with patient interaction over the phone. You will also gain experience working with allied health professionals, such as nurses and dietitians.

We have day, evening, and night shifts available. We also offer casual positions, which pick up shifts, dependent on the department needs. Casual positions are not guaranteed days/hours.

Monday – TL5 – 4:00pm-8:00pm
Friday – TP8 – 4:30pm-8:30pm
Saturday – TP3 – 7:00am-3:30pm
Sunday – TP3 – 7:00am-3:30pm
Week 2:
Monday – TL5 – 4:00pm-8:00pm
Thursday – TP5 – 4:00pm-8:00pm
Schedule may change based on the needs of the operation.
Responsibilities Job Description
Taking meal orders from/for patients in a Call Center Environment.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of nutrition.
Ability to explain diet order to patient or staff.
Knowledge of specific nutrients in food.
Understanding of dietary needs with modified diets.
Understanding of culturally specific food choices.
Ability to identify foods in relation to patient allergies.
Ability to resolve appropriate food choices for therapeutic diets.
Ability to understand and operate room service system.
Affectively communicate a diet order to a patient, so that a patient has a general understanding of their diet order.
Ability to competently satisfy patients through offering acceptable alternative meal choices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma / G.E.D
6 months customer service experience
6 months office equipment/computer experience
Preferred qualifications (Optional):
College level nutrition or hospitality related course work completion greater than or equal to second year of a four-year degree program or a graduate of a 2-year program
Prior experience in a healthcare food service department
Previous experience working directly with patients to provide the appropriate meal to meet their diet specifications.
Previous experience in the front of house operations of healthcare, hotels restaurants or country clubs
Previous experience as a switch board operator, telemarketer or customer service technician.
