Driving to Independence is a flourishing adaptive driving private
practice operating in Arizona and New Mexico. We are currently seeking
an individual, with or without prior adaptive driving experience, to
join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in working independently,
conducting adaptive driving assessments, training sessions, and making
safety recommendations for drivers.

Arizona, with its unique western charm, offers an excellent opportunity
for someone looking to relocate or advance their career. This position
is especially well-suited for an experienced Certified Driver
Rehabilitation Specialist transitioning to retirement.

Our clients typically seek our services due to various diagnoses or
health-related reasons requiring an adaptive driving evaluation.
Ideally, the candidate will be an Occupational Therapist or a similar
professional with experience in addressing a wide range of physical,
cognitive, and learning diagnoses.

As an adaptive driving evaluator, your responsibilities will include
conducting clinical and behind-the-wheel assessments, providing
necessary training recommendations, documenting retirement from driving
when appropriate, and completing the required Motor Vehicle Department
paperwork for licensing.

Exceptional communication skills are essential for interacting with a
diverse clientele, varying in age, diagnosis, and personality. The
candidate must also possess accurate writing and documentation skills
and be knowledgeable about a variety of adaptive equipment and vehicles
to make appropriate client recommendations.

An ideal candidate will have prior experience as a Certified Driver
Rehabilitation Specialist. Membership in the Association for Driver
Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) is provided as a benefit, and
continuing education to maintain this credential is both essential and
supported by Driving to Independence.
