4LS Engineer (Multiple Positions)

Nokia of America Corporation, 4LS Engineer (Multiple Positions), Murray Hill, NJ. Provide primary Global R&D level support to Nokia customers and perform 1830 customer problem analysis and resolution. Assist with optical system transmission, infrastructure Optical Transponder and test automation development for the 1830 WDM transmission system in support of customer related problem resolutions. Provide support for 1830 WDM product and technology, including control and management software, optical transmission, WDM optics and OTN switching. Provide assistance to field support teams to collect required diagnostic data and work with R&D experts as required to resolve issues. Perform Software or Hardware design and development, or system test of communication systems. SALARY RANGE: $133,574 – $166,400 per yearWORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressive related work experience. Or a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Systems or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: WDM optical transmission systems, including hi-speed transmission modulation and receiver technologies; Software programming skills, including Python and Perl to automate test cases; Physical system and test equipment in the 1830 WDM R&D labs; Optical transmission systems and networks, including WDM, SONET, SDH, and OTN; Advanced signal modulation techniques and coherent receiver technologies; Software-based network element optical power control software systems.
