Summary As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Safety and Soundness, you will conduct and assist in the supervision of Safety and Soundness activities in large banks and carry out bank supervision objectives. Responsibilities As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Safety and Soundness, you will: Lead and/or perform Safety and Soundness examinations at complex and large banks. Plan, coordinate, and monitor supervisory activities, including assessing risk, developing supervisory strategies, determining the scope of supervisory activities, managing teams of assisting personnel during supervisory activities, preparing reports of activities, and developing responses to address risks. Serve as a consultant to employees and managers. Lead in discussions with bank management on findings and recommendations. Provide leadership and training to other examiners and may instruct at formal schools. Maintain effective communications and ensure that appropriate coordination and follow-up activities take place within the OCC. Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into “Continuous Vetting.” Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout ones employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBIs Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-IV band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Conducting examinations, audits, or internal reviews of a financial institutions condition, assessing compliance with applicable banking laws and regulations, and identifying and recommending corrective actions. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Education Education cannot be used to qualify for this position. Additional Information This position is a Step 2 level position within the NB-V pay band. Step 2 level positions are distinguished by additional job complexity, responsibility, and advanced skill levels required by the work. If in an alternative location, when traveling to Pittsburgh, PA, you will be expected to be onsite no later than 1:30 pm on the first workday, departing no earlier than noon on the last workday and there should be no travel on Sunday unless there is a business need approved by your authorizing official in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR) and/or the OCC FTR Supplement.
