Early Childhood Educator

We are looking for a Full-Time Early Childhood Educator. This position reports to the Director of Social Services and is responsible for providing care and development stimulation to infants and children, and to act as a role model for parents by modeling basic parenting skills. The successful candidate will work in assigned age group and assist the Center Director/Supervisor in tasks and assignments.

The hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. There are NO weekends.

There are Paid Holdays and Paid Time Off.

In addition, Free nutritional lunches are available for staff in our dining room.

Position Requirements:

– Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
– High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of Early Childhood classroom experience
– Experience working with young children, birth to young school-age
– Computer skills; Microsoft products and electronic records (EMR/EHR)
– Ability to secure Act 33, 34, and FBI clearances
– Flexible schedule
– Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
– Ability to climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds; hearing and visual acuity necessary to conduct day-to-day communications with personnel, children, and parents

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

– Maintain a safe, clean, friendly and nurturing atmosphere conducive to childrens learning
– Create, organize and implement childrens daily routine
– Ensure a balance of physical activities, social experiences, and educational opportunities
– Assist in carrying out daily developmentally appropriate activities that promote childrens self-image, confidence and feelings of self-worth
– Implement strategies to help children develop self-regulation
– Provide support to mothers, assist in their activities with their children
– Report all concerns regarding the children, program, and co-workers to the supervisor in a timely manner
– Manage behaviors through positive guidance, re-direction, and conflict resolution
– Coordinate and plan with other teachers; schedules, breaks, activities to maintain ratios 
– Documentation as required
– Ensure center files a complete
– Attend department meetings, staff meetings, and trainings as required
