May be required to perform work on power distribution systems, building electrical systems and other systems building access, fire alarm, security, audio/visual and automation medium 5-35kv and low voltage 600v and less. Knowledge of MV / LV switchgear and associated controls. Ability to operate 13KV switches, inspect 13KV switches and transformers, operate 4KV switches, inspection of 4KV switches and transformers, as well as being able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair all electrical systems; in order to provide a safe environment in all University facilities, including classrooms, student residences, dining facilities, laboratories, athletic facilities, and any other property or facility owned or operated by the University in accordance with applicable standards of the trade and regulatory agencies.

Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs, as required, building electrical equipment and fixtures consistent with manufacturers guidelines, design parameters, and accepted practices. b. Installs electrical fixtures including but not limited to services, conduit, panels, motor starters, control panels, and other equipment and fixtures as required. c. Troubleshoots and repairs all types of electrical, life and fire safety systems including 208 and 480 volt, single and three phase systems and components. d. Maintains, makes operational repairs, and performs preventative maintenance tasks for residential and commercial-type electrical equipment and fixtures. e. Operates and keeps in good working order a variety of equipment including hand and power tools, mobile electronic devices, measuring/diagnostic/testing meters, and instruments. f. Reads and interprets complex blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams. g. Performs various carpentry, masonry, painting, and plastering work as required h. Coordinates repairs with other trades, offices and departments affected by electrical operations. i. Assists in furniture and event set ups and break downs, decorations for special functions, meetings, etc. j. Performs other duties as assigned within the normal scope of the departments responsibilities and the individuals capabilities.
a. HS diploma or equivalent and current documentation indicating successful completion of formal training classes or programs and licensure in the electrical trade or be able to exhibit acceptable life experiences in electrical work. b. Fully knowledgeable with all building power supply and distribution systems. Able to provide specifications, estimates and bill of materials for all electrical equipment installation and repairs. c. Is currently classified and working as Electrician 2nd Class and meets and maintains all qualifications for Electrician 2nd Class. d. A minimum of five years of service in the trade at Villanova University Upon the discretion of Facilities Management. e. Must have the ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings/sketches, schematics, and diagrams. f. Basic Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Outlook skills. g. Must possess and maintain personal hand tools required for the trade. h. Must have the ability to follow both verbal and written directions in English; the abil ty to interact with students, faculty, administration, and staff in a professional and positive manner, as well as the ability to read and understand NFPA and ICC codes and OSHA guidelines, such as Material Safety Data Sheets, equipment safety data plates, fuel/chemical flash points, etc. i. Must have the physical ability to climb ladders, to bend, reach, crawl, and lift up to 60 lbs.; the ability to work in enclosed spaces. j. Must have and maintain a valid drivers license. k. Must not have any disciplinary actions on file within the previous twelve months of applying for this position. l. Must possess current ANSI/OSHA compliant training card to operate aerial lift, bucket truck, forklift, or all. m. Must have the ability to erect and work on scaffolding as per OSHA standards. n. Must have an excellent safety record.
