Position Summary:

Under the general supervision and direction of the Surgical Services Department Manager, and with the authority from the Chief Nursing Officer, the Supervisor-Surgery/OR assists the Surgical Services Department Manager with supervision of the daily operations in the Department of Surgery, which includes the Operating Room, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, Endoscopy Lab, Outpatient Surgery, and Preadmission Testing. The Supervisor-Surgery/OR is responsible for meeting the standards of care and practice of perioperative nursing and monitoring the performance of staff. The Supervisor performs all functions in a professional manner and collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure provision of quality patient care, while ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.

License/Certification/Education: Currently registered in the State of Virginia, or eligible for licensure. Must maintain BLS and ACLS certifications. Prefer Baccalaureate Degree.

Experience: Job requires five (5) years of previous nursing experience in an acute care surgical services setting. Leadership experience is strongly preferred.
