Position Overview

As a Quality Manager at Kiewits Southeast District, you will play a vital role in upholding the highest standards of quality in construction projects. You will lead the implementation and management of Contractors Quality Control (CQC), ensuring compliance with regulations and achieving excellence in all aspects of quality management.

Working closely with project teams, authorized inspectors, and clients, you will be the point person for all quality control matters, fostering a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement.

District Overview

Kiewits Southeast District is one of Kiewits leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels.  Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain effective communications and relations with district management, project management teams, authorized inspectors and engineer or client as required.

• Recruit, hire, train, mentor and supervise district and project quality control inspectors.

• Coordinate quality control staffing needs on projects and assign qualified personnel.

• Work with other districts as needed to share resources.

• Assist project teams in setting up the quality department and preparing for project kick-off and pre-job planning meetings. Assist in identifying the proper Inspection and Test Plans (ITP’s), checklists, and other documentation for the project.

• Support project teams in the development and implementation of project quality plans and supplemental procedures as needed.

• Facilitate resolution of issues by working with Project Quality Managers and Project Managers.

• Monitor and report district quality incident.

• Oversee code compliance for work.

• Liaison between authorized inspection agency and jurisdictional authorities. Assist in acquiring authorized inspection services to the projects.

• Research and answer technical questions; assist in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either engineering, architecture, or construction management.

• At least ten years experience as either a Construction Quality Control (CQC) System Manager, Registered Professional Engineer, or Certified Construction Manager.

• Certifications from AWS, CWB, API, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, etc. are advantageous.

• Experience on at least one completed embankment dam construction project within the last 10 years.

• Experience as the Construction Quality Control (CQC) System Manager on at least one completed civil works construction project with a total contract value of at least $100 million it the last 10years .

• Completed (or capable of completing upon hiring) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) course Construction Quality Management For Contractors (CQM-C) w/in previous 5years.
