The Practice Clinical Coordinator RN collaborates with physician and administrative leadership to provide leadership, education, and coaching to clinical staff to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care. The Practice Clinical Coordinator – RN will assist with development and implementation of clinical operations, staff development and training, and quality improvement initiatives.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports development of clinical personnel schedules (as assigned), identifies alternative staffing solutions, and performs general job duties specific to clinical role, as needed.

Assists in interview process of clinical personnel, as needed.

Facilitates new clinical staff orientation and onboarding, participates in new hire competency reviews, and provides coaching and remediation, as necessary.

Performs recurring clinical competency evaluations for all clinical staff and provides input into overall annual performance evaluation.

Oversees clinical supply ordering, conducts cost and product analyses, and offers recommendations for alternative clinical supplies.

Maintains high level of competence in EMR system including clinical documentation requirements, coding and billing, and patient communication.

In collaboration with physician and administrative leadership, identifies and leads quality improvement initiatives to enhance quality of care, patient experience and care coordination through development and implementation of evidenced based protocols.

Provides ongoing education and training to clinical personnel regarding updated standards of care and evidenced based protocols.

Partners with Access Center POD CTS Supervisor and other team members to optimize care coordination and patient experience between the Access Center POD and practice operations.

Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours at a time). Requires continual use of fingers for patient care, writing and handling patient charts. Routine use of upper extremities; occasional requirement to lift items up to 25 pounds. Occasional requirement to push supply cart weighing up to 30 pounds, and wheelchair with patient weighing up to 325 pounds. Regularly requires ability to stoop, bend and reach above shoulder level. Requires ability to hear normal conversation, and good general, near and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; holds a current RN or BSN licensure required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Two or more years of nursing experience required.

One year of recent experience in a physician practice preferred.

Lead and/or supervisory experience preferred.

Current CPR certification required.
