Position Summary:

Under direction of Imaging Services Leader, Lead MRI tech., and Radiologist performs exams at technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Reviews patient history and physicians orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patients understanding and cooperation. Checks two patient identifiers-name and birthdate.

When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
Prepares equipment and supplies.
Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Assists with checking and ordering supplies and maintaining inventory in a cost effective manner.
Responsible for interacting with the radiologist to assure all quality measures are met.
Assists lead tech in development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
Participates and assists lead tech with MRI safety education.
Responsible for charging and putting exams in Taken status upon completion.
Responsible for transmitting images to PACS and burning cd as necessary.
Responsible for scanning appropriate paperwork via scanner to PACS immediately upon completion of exam.

Education: Associates Degree required.

License/Certification: A.R.R.T., MRI, and BLS are required.

Experience: At least six (6) months of MRI experience required.
