A typical day for a Direct Support Professional includes the following:

Assisting your clients with their community goals as written in their plan of care

Community Living Supports are used to increase or maintain the following:

personal self-sufficiency,

facilitating an individuals achievement of his goals of community inclusion and participation,

Independence or productivity. 

Supports provided in the participants residence or in community settings (including, but not limited to, libraries, city pools, camps, etc.)

Eligibility Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED/GSD

Valid Driver’s License

Auto insurance and reliable transportation

Dedication to professional development, including organizational and state-required training
